Contains House and Senate bills that Representative Mahalak worked on or had a special interest in. Series 2. Subject files, 1965-1977. Contains correspondence, reports, memoranda, legislative bills, and minutes. These files reflect the concern of Michigan's electorate on many issues. These include daylight-savings time, air pollution, campaign reform, abortion, flood insurance, employment, nursing home standards, and property tax relief.

Edward E. Mahalak (democrat, Ninety-second District) was elected to the House of Representatives in 1964. He served until 1984. A graduate of Wayne State University and Detroit College of Law, Mahalak was a justice of the peace (Romulus, Michigan) for three consecutive four terms, beginning in 1955. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Air Force.
